vbulletin.org still on 3.6.12
I see that vbulletin.org is still using vbulletin 3.6.12.
That is the same version I am using and see no need to upgrade. So apparently it is a good version or vbulletin.org would have upgraded? I did pay for Vbulletin 4.0 (so I could continue to get support for the 3 series) but I do not intend to upgrade to 4.0 as I don't like it's looks and don't need or want the CMS system. |

me too. No plans on upgrading to 4.0, but bought it to get 3.8 updates.

At least I am not alone! I don't check in here but every few months and was just surprised to see that this site did not upgrade to 4.0.
Must be a sign! |

vBulletin.org doesn't upgrade due to their extensive code modifications, and other factors like volunteer staff, etc etc etc etc thats been discussed one other time...
I dont think it has anything to do with quality of releases. |

The same reason I don't upgrade, too much trouble to change all the customizations and for no gain.

If vB.org ever upgraded, it would be to at least 3.8

vbulletin.org works well as is, I don't think it needs to be on the cutting edge of forum development, we don't need blogs or galleries here and the customizations would make upgrading painful for no real gain- as long as they can plug security holes, and I'm sure they can, there's no point to upgrading just for the sake of upgrading.
