No one can post a new thread after upgrade :[
Just upgraded to 3.8.3. The upgrade went well, and finished the upgrade script... deleted install.php and now I get this error when ever I try to make a new thread...
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: can_use_prefix() in /home/blank/public_html/forums/newthread.php on line 168 Note: I also created a new forum before I tried making a new thread after upgrade, but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Any help is greatly appreciated.. I have my forum currently turned off because of this :[ --------------- Added [DATE]1275251549[/DATE] at [TIME]1275251549[/TIME] --------------- I've tried searching these forums, and google... but nothing comes up. :'[ |

Have you tried to revert all of the templates which are out of date? This error refers to thread prefixes, which you may not have had in your earlier installation of vBulletin.
Also, try rebuilding your statistics. It looks like it refers to usergroup permissions too. |

No I haven't, and how do I do this?
After I updated, it said that 4 of my custom templates needed to be looked at or something. I opened each one and clicked "save revert" which made them go away or something like that... Dunno if that's what your talking about. But how do I revert all of my templates that you are talking about? Many Thanks |

You have already reverted your templates, that's what the 'out of date' messages were referring to.
Hmm, so this is not your issue. You may have more success by opening a support ticket over at vbulletin.com. |

I have already opened a ticket, but I have not received a response in the last 3-4 hours.
I just finished rebuilding my stats and that didn't seem to fix the problem. How do you think this problem with the usergroup permissions may be? I don't think that would cause a fatal error, would it? |

Hmm, it shouldn't cause an error like this. If usergroup permissions were wrong, vBulletin itself would give an error.. This kind of message points to an error in the actual code.
I would first try creating a brand new style with no parent style, and try using that and see what happens. If this doesn't work, try to re-upload all of your vBulletin files except install.php and config.php - you won't need to re-install or re-upgrade, since this has already been done. ... If none of that works, I'm at a loss. Either somebody else can chip in or you'll be waiting for vBulletin.com staff to get back to you. |

This is not related to templates.
First make sure all files of the new vBulletin version have been uploaded. Check also Suspect Files in the diagnostics in the AdminCP. If that is not the solution, then it is caused by 1 of your modificaitons. Try disabling the plugin system. |

Fixed the problem, seems like there were alot of old versions of files in my diagnostics. And then disabling the auto-tagger plugin fixed the rest....
Lol exactly as you said marco :] Thank you. |
