Change default birth date?

When registering, I think the default birth date is January 1 1980 (?)

Is there a way to make it "null" as a default? Or to change the default?

I want to snag the people who join up and use the default DOB when registering, mainly because we don't allow registration under 13, and have a section that is restricted to 18+, and I want to get as many real birthdates as possible. I doubt that 103 of my members were all born on 1-1-80.

Also, the allowed range of DOBs is 1902-present. Is there a way to alter that range?
