Solved: Content Encoding Error - Cannot view member profiles
Hello everyone.
I apologise if this is in the wrong place - it's 5am and I'm exhausted. I can't go to bed yet because I made the mistake of reverting a couple of templates after upgrading to v3.8.4 and now my forum is in bits. Okay, I can no longer view member profiles. I get the following error message when I click on a member's name: Content Encoding Error The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. I'm guessing I must have reverted the "memberinfo" template. However, when trying to revert to a) the last version of that template as edited by me or b) the original Jelsoft version it doesn't fix the problem. I'm in dire need of some help, so anything you guys have got to help me fix this is very much appreciated. Thank you! --------------- Added [DATE]1269163143[/DATE] at [TIME]1269163143[/TIME] --------------- I don't know if this helps with the diagnosis, but my members are reporting that they cannot view member photo albums either. |

This means that the file compression of the member.php file is in a format that your browser can't understand. Try re-downloading the original package for your vB version in full zip format, and uploading the contents of the upload folder to your forum directory, overwriting the server copy.
