N00B-questions
Hi,
I?m quite new to Vbulletin and have 2 questions i was wondering if anyone could help me with. I purchased the VB 4 Suite and have installed it on the server. Activated "Mod Rewrite Friendly URLs" in the Control Panel but is not fully happy with the output. Currently my URL looks like this: http://www.xxxxxx.xxx/blogs/1-Admin and i would like it to look like this: http://www.xxxxxx.xxx/blogs/Admin in other words, i would like to loose the user-id or what it?s called from the URL. Is this possible through vbulletin or .htaccess, and if so, how do I do it? The second question is a login-issue. When i visit the index-page for my CMS i?m able to login as admin in the top right corner of the screen. After doing that a link at the bottom of the site appears to the "Admin - control panel". When I click that link i?m however forced to login again for the controlpanel. Why is that?, any workarounds? |

It's not a good idea to try to remove the *variable*id from URLs. What happens if Bob and Bob_ want to have a blog? Or 2 people start a thread called "Hi everybody"?
The second thing is for security purposes. Both of these things are there for our protection, messing with them is not something I would advise. |
