Good evening at all
i have a problem to understand how to create a section in home page by layout manager wher to insert a video because i do not find more the video widget that i've seen time ago in a beta version.
actualli i have VB4 gold PL1.

P.s. i need this for the cms in home page but i think that's the same for blog and forum

If i understand you correctly, your trying to add a custom video to your CMS Home Page?

First create a new widget under vBulletin CMS>Widgets. Make sure you select HTML for the widget type and then cut and paste html code for video (ie. youtube embed etc.).

Next go to Layout Manager under vBulletin CMS, and choose to edit "HOME."

On this page, simply add new video widget and then drag it to the right column, where you want it. Then save.

yes it's correct.
but the prpblem is this :
i must create a new vidget for every video that i insert in home page or in other page?
and, when i create the widget and pasted the code i've seen that the size is really little and not how the videos that i've seen in the demo or other sites.
i thought that there was a generic widget where to insert the code or how the product ame3 that i've downloaded that simply convert the code in video and i can adjust the size how i want.
thanks a lot for information of static html beacuse i thought that was the phpexecute widget.

There are a few options.

1. You can post a new article, blog or forum thread with the video embedded. For example, if you wanted to do a movie review, you can embed the video into your post, and then write about it.

2. If your looking to play YouTube videos, there is code out there to allow you to play your YouTube playlist in rotation. Simply create a YouTube playlist of your favorite videos, then embed that code into your widget, and now you have rotating videos.

3. Some video sites, like youtube, have video RSS feeds too, which will play popular videos in rotation. Simply embed the RSS code into the widget. This is similar to the CNN Widget that came with vBulletin; and there are lots of news websites and other entertainment websites that have video RSS for users to use.

4. There is code out there that will allow you to rotate and stream your own hosted video. Similar to how people add mp3 players to their website.

Lots of other options, depending on what you want to do.

But, be wary of posting too much non-original content. Such as content from websites that allow you to post their articles for free; or using too much RSS info. I read that some search engines like google, are now excluding website urls when the content is mass copied site to site.

A lot of people are just creating websites that contain other peoples content, and web searchers are getting annoyed with this. They want fresh and original content!

Good morning fusion2 thank fot the post and merry christmas ..
after this i do not have the cnn widget and i do not find in the site the codes to d the rotation how you have said.
all have you wrote is interesting and correct and i hope to not do only copy and paste from other sites but i think that it can happen because se do not have people that write articles everyday and so to populae site we select the best notices from all the paper in Italy and we do a sort of mix of notices with the possibility of comment..
i've seen that is possible to connect to forum with comments of articles.. but not automatically creating a forum from the section of cms but only in comments forum.. it's really so??
sorry for other question and if i post in other post i'll do immediately.
