I'm trying to figure out the code to hide the following (in red box) from certain sub-forums:



anybody any ideas?

Why not set it in the settings this can be done if you go into the forum manager and change the settings to not show.

O_o how? i've been through all the settings - dont recall one for that!

Show Private Forum(Select 'No' here to hide this forum from users who are not allowed to access it. Users who do have permission to access it will have to log in before they can see this forum.
This option applies to any forum listing, including the Quick Navigation menu, and Search Results.
Selecting 'Use default' will use the system default as defined in Forum Listings Display Options.)

Then go through the forum permissions and set it accordingly to your needs.

Thanks for that - i do want people to be able to see it - but i want to hide it for certian sub-forums. my layout is like this:

Forum #1 <- Threadlist / controls Hidden in this forum only. But forum visible to all
-> SubForum #1 <- Threadlist / controls visible as normal
-> SubForum #2 <- Threadlist / controls visible as normal
-> SubForum #3 <- Threadlist / controls visible as normal

Then the ones you want to edit the permissions and the setting I showed earlier. Just hide what you want and it'll work.
