Good idea to install VB4 forum first before adding publishing suite later?
Hi all,
need some advice? i'm paying for the VB4 publishing suite (on presale) coz we are sure our site needs the CMS modules and the suite features. however, the suite is not released yet. is it a good idea for us to upgrade our 3.8.4 forum to VB4 forum first and add in the CMS later? or is it better to wait till VB4 suite is released before we do the upgrade. our website is undergoing a whole revamp now hence the question of timing... |

I am not running mine live but I have had no issues running the suite right now. It is available but no support since it is a beta.

Upgrading now will mostly only give your site a few moe features and be a bit more secure, that's about it. VB usually goes through atleast about 7 to 9 betas before going gold so I wouldn't expect to go to vb4 gold for atleast a few weeks. If you don't mind upgrading then upgrading again in a few weeks sure go ahead and go to 3.8. If you just want to do it once, you may want to wait on it. Personally I saw just wait if you already on a live site.
I've been trying out vb suite for a bit with my team and now I have made a decision to just use the forums of vb4 and not the whole suite. The suit made everything about the site I didn't want. |
