vb_user table dropped mysteriously?
Hi all,
I've had this happen to me twice now, but I am unsure HOW or WHY it's happening. My first instinct is that I've been hacked, but I'm not sure how to prevent this from happening in the future. I'm running vbulletin 3.7.6 PL1 now, and this situation happened to me again. I go to my forum home page and get a Database Error, due to the "vb_user" table not existing. Sure enough after a glimpse into phpmyadmin, it's really gone. Last time, I know that vb_post was also gone. I am hosted with a reputable VPS company that was able to pull up a bare metal restore and find my database the 1st time it happened. Now I re-set up my cron job to do daily backups, so the second time wasn't too horrible. I've changed all my passwords on cpanel, root access and vbulletin. After the first time I patched vB with the latest 3.7 there was. I do have some modifications installed, Advertisement System By TZ AWCoding- Back-End AWCoding- Donation System Cyb - Advanced Permissions Based on Post Count Extended reputation display Separate Sticky and Normal Threads Yet Another Award System 3.7 I try not to have too many add ons, and limit it to the ones we use all of the time. I know one of the first steps is to disable products, I'm hoping to not do that, as my members will have a fit if I take them away. Does anyone have any idea how my database could be dropping these very important tables OR what I may be vulnerable to that is letting a person drop this table manually to cripple my database? I am really worried that this will continue to happen, as it's happened twice in the past week now. Thank you for any advice you may be able to give me. I'm sick of my table disappearing |

Have you looked at your access_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host)? Have you mentioned this to your host and asked them for help figuring out how this could happen?
