It would be great if both Squirrel and vBulletin share the same handle/password and new user can sign-up/change password for both within a single form.
For example that's only a sign-up form and a shared database for both scripts, then the intergrated email address will appear on forum's profile section by default unless user choose to display another email.
In fact it doesn't need to be any complicated, any simple hack that could intergrate both would definately be a great one. I'm sure many would appreciate and realise the usefulness and worthyness of this hack.
Does sound pretty interesting... installing Squirrel is on my list, but down on my list for installing and configuring..
I have not really looked at the (well not for awhile) but I am sure if you want you could set it up where, when you register for the board, it will automatically create an account for you. Then in the User Control Panel, is where you can have a lot of options, like changing your email, checking your email account, etc.. so that they can do it all from one control panel
I have intergrated a few things into mine, so that if they want to check stats or other scripts they can just view one area, and get what all they need. So I am sure this is possible

Yes, i'm sure this will made the script even more interesting
You might do it like an old UBB 5.xx hack did it, use the PM functions and convert them into mail handlers, have a php script, that would be setup in sendmail, so sendmail catchs all email for a domain, and sends them to the php script to be run at a command line, the email would be addressed to the users name, and be sent to their email addy. You could add extra things like pop3 mail box checking and all do that, might be easier, or harder than intergrating another mail client..
I have been working on a photo upload script.. that I will eventually release and then after that I was going to take a look at it. I know there is few other nice mail programs out there like squirrel... that I might adventure into.
