Import feedbacks from eBay!
That's a nice hack that will made the creator surely MOTM!
I had phpprobid installed once, and bought a modification that allows the users to import their feedback ratings from ebay to phpprobid. Since the main problem of any new marketplace, also the ones in vbulletin, is the possibility to trust the sellers, this hack will help a lot the selling/buying comunity grow. The mod work like this, vbulletin generate an unique code (8-16 chars) for every registered user, and shows it in the user CP. The user copy&paste his confirmation code inside his about-me page text on ebay, then he come back to his control pannel on vbulletin, and in a dedicated field, he write the nick he uses on ebay, and press a GO! button, then vbulletin check the about-me page of the nick for the given code, so that it could confirm that the identity of this vbulletin account match the one on ebay. Once confirmation is done, simply import the total number of the feedbacks. This way a user can update his vbulletin profile everytime he wants with the new feedbacks count. Finally, we should have under every user avatar the tiny ebay gif you find down here, and at its side, the total feedbacks result in brackets. The number should be clickable, and once clicked should open a new window with the ebay feedbacks page of the user. You can check out the original mod for phpprobid here: http://www.probidv6mods.com/auction_...uction_id=1069 I have ofcourse the mod, since I bought it, and gladly, if requested, will pass it to the coder that is willing to accept this task... Thank you for reading!! |
