Limit on smilies per post

Hello all,

I have been searching through these forums but I could not find the answer that I wanted.
The problem is that I see a limitation for images and smilies. I want to limit the smilies to 5 per post but not the images.

I am talking about images used with the [IMG] tag. I want to keep it at a maximum of 50.
How can I do this?

My board is running on version 3.8.2.

Not every problem needs a software solution. Add a rule about it, and infract a few people. Easy.

Actually, it would fall under our forum's "spam" rule, which forbids things like posting in all caps.

It's actually the other way round I'd like to do it. Restrict the images but not the smileys.
I understand we can add a rule to do it, but this is more about encouragement by restriction
