I'm developing a vb forum, and want to add a feature.
When I create a thread, I want to add a Prefix for the thread. You can see a demo here : http://images.blue-deluxe.com/upload/screenshot.png Think on domain forums, like in the screenshot, when somebody write his domain as a thread name, he could choose from that dropdown, the extension .com, .net, etc. Later Edit : Also, how I can make the links, SEO friendly? forumdisplay.php?f=107 - this thing to appear as the thread name, or something similar. How can I do this? Thanks. |

Yeah he can, but i believe you mis worded your statement. When he types a bbcode link meaning.
www.vbulletin.org then the prefix automatically changes to .org Correct? |

I'm not talking about the bbcodes here, or the post in thread, I'm talking about the name.
For example, in an auction section, or sale section, when the member add a new thread, they can put " vbulletin " as a thread name, and to choose .org from the drop menu. |

Im not so sure it will change automaticlly, but the best way i could think of this is to have a seperate forum and make your users select a prefix.
i dont think its possible, corrent me if im wrong? |

Please view the screenshot. It's not about the users name, it's about the thread name.
I want to start a thread, ok? Well, I insert the name vbulletin, and I choose the .org from that prefix, it must be a dropdown, to have different extensions : .com ; .org ; .net and so on ... --------------- Added [DATE]1247219740[/DATE] at [TIME]1247219740[/TIME] --------------- Can anyone help me? Create a prefix set and then enable it for your 'auction' forum. However that would look like:
[.org] vBulletin Is this what you're after? AdminCP => Thread Prefixes => Add new prefix set. Hope this is what you're after. |

Ok. This could help. Could we make a drop down for that prefix? or is only one?
And how I do the thing with the link, to be seo friendly? Thread name as a link? |

This seems unnecessary as you could just ask them to put a URL extension (.com, .org etc).
To add more than 1 prefix to the set: Prefix set ID: to make sure the set is unique. Can hold any value (click ? for help) Title: URL extension (or something?) Display order: Self-explanatory, click ? for help. Use prefix set in these forums: Select the forum you want (hold ctrl and click if you want more than 1 forum). Once you've done that, go to Thread Prefix Manager, then click 'Add Prefix' (on the right). Fill in the fields, for help click the ?. Be sure to make sure your related forum is set to 'Require threads to have a prefix' for this to be 100% effective. As for SEO friendly, I'm not sure. |
