Profile Field question
Ok I have my gender profile fields all set up, and I also have a mod installed where members can't access a forum area based on the profile field, Well I want to make the gender also for "Staff Female" and "Staff Male" but I want these to be private but on the same profile field, I don't want these 2 to be choose able, does this make since? How would I have this? I want the staff to be able to see all of the forum areas.

You can't make some options of the profile field pickable and others not pickable. Perhaps just add the word "Staff" before the word "Female" or "Male" in your profile if the person is on Staff.

Right, but I want all members to have to chose a Gender when they join, I have this set up for that, but since I am a Female I cannot view the Males forum, because I have female next to my name, I want to beable to view the entire forum, being the webmaster of the forum and all, Know what I mean?

You're an administrator - you can set the forum permissions so you can view any forum you want.

But you have to create a forum, right? So you can still go in and manually change the forum permissions for administrators or set an access mask for yourself, I would think. If not, then you should ask for help with this in the mod thread cuz I don't know anything about how that mod works.

Do you know if there is any way to not allow men in a forum just for women and vise versa? where they cannot see the forum and unregistered or not logged in who also can not see these areas either? This was the only mod I could find and its a 3.6 mod and no one is doing support on it anymore, from what I see. I mean its not a huge deal, but I would like it, I might dig around in it and see if I can find away to let staff over ride it but I'm not that great with codes hehe unless they are css.

I have never done that on my forum, so I really don't know the best way to do it.

I just wanted to say that I got this all figured out, and if anyone is wanting to do this, this is what you do.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ight=usergroup I downloaded this and installed it I made 2 usergroups: Male and Female I changed all my members to the right group I went in and set my permission for the forums, where male can't see female and female can't see male. Then I made it so all groups that were not in these groups or had more then 1 usergroup could not see these areas unless they are staff. Hope it works if you try this worked like a charm for me |
