Search Problems
This question is asked all the time but ive never actually seen it answered.
How can I stop it from searching for common words? Also, I think there are problems with special characters. People cant search something like Babylon A.D. or X-Men Origins: Wolverine So how can I fix this too? By the way, I dont mind directly editing vB files if nessasary. |

1. To prevent searching of common words, Admin CP -> vBulletin Settings -> Message Searching Options
From here set the Search Index Minimum Word Length (3 or less generally covers most common words) and Words to be excluded from search as needed. 2. Not really sure, but I believe the "." are filtered out by default as they're considered operators IIRC. |

Are you using mysql fulltext searching or vbulletin searching?
