Keeping vBulletin wrapped in Joomla
I'm working at embedding vBulletin 3.8 into Joomla 1.5. The included wrapper is excellent, up until the point where you refresh or link to the forum, only to be dropped into vBulletin only and not in the "wrapped" version in Joomla.
I'm looking at a solution that will allow me to get vB embedded into Joomla so that vB almost works as an extension in the Joomla frontend, without having to style vB manually to look like the existing Joomla site. Please note: this is only to do with embedding vB into Joomla, I've already got jFusion handling user db syncing etc. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks |

View your Joomla page and then view the source code.
Copy out header and navigation code. Then insert it into the header template in vB. Repeat for footer. Adjust and tweak as needed. Its not dynamic, but no huge deal unless you change your main site links a lot. Thats bad for SEO anyhow. Dont use the Joomla wrapper for things like this. Its not what its made for. It for small bits of code or minor things, not entire scripts. |
