Which Template

if I wanted ot create a sidebar manually which touched the header and footer and to be shown on all pages, which template should I put it in?

Not FORUMHOME since that would limit me to one page. And not something that navbar since that would limit me to having it below the navigation.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I want this to display on all pages. By FORUMHOME, I mean the template would not be suitable.

theres a modification for doing this do a search for "side column" in "all mods" "titles only", it's by kerry-anne or peterska2

I'm not after a mod, I'm after coding it myself. I'm just not sure of the best place to put it.

the mod i reffer to is this:

it works for 3.8.2 all you need to do to make it show on all pages is put the first part of the code at the very bottom of the header template and the second part ot the very top of the footer, you have to add all your own custom stuff to the side_column_left template as id doesnt come with any installed components a blank canvas as it were

well, you could use if statement , edit your global templates , header footer.

if FORUMHOME , hide it , else , display ( side bar code ) .

That only shows on forumhome and is under the navbar.

Edit the CSS, add a floating menu. Then you can add the CSS reference in all the appropriate files to display or you can attach onto the BODY.

if you read the thread there is a post that tells you how to have the mod under the header and appear on ALL pages.

I even mentioned how to do it in THIS thread:
