Default Moderation

Hi,

I want to make it so a certain usergroup's posts and threads have to be approved by a moderator before they are shown. I am really not sure how to do this so can anyone help?

Thanks,

admincp > usergroup manager > usergroup you want to moderate > post/thread permissions > Follow Forum Moderation Rules > check No

Check this under Forums & Moderators > Forum Permissions > select the usergroup under each of the forums and check the permission there

Okay I found out the problem.
Some users were in additional usergroups which then made it so the moderation didn't work.
Is there any way to overcome this so maybe they follow the rules of their primary usergroup.

Thanks,

A Yes permission will overcome a No permission. So, if the extra usergroup you put them in gives them a Yes even though their primary group says No, they will get the Yes applied to them.

Hmm, I tried that but to no avail. People now are having to have all posts moderated in the additional group forums.

Have you checked Forum Permissions > find forum in list > find usergroup under forum > check the permissions for moderation there?

And I'm trying to do the exact opposite - create a usergroup that does not have to be moderated. I've searched for "bypass + moderation" and found this thread.

Following the above instructions, adapted to reach my goal, so far isn't working. The new usergroup, Trusted Member, was created off of Registered Members. Follow Forum Moderation Rules is set to Yes. If no, posts are always placed into moderation queue, right? Registered Member is set to No.

I've tried switching between using Registered Member and Trusted Member as primary then secondary usergroup. Neither works. Hoping you can tell me what I did wrong.

I'm using 3.6.8 PL2.
