Need advice on upgrading how fix an error
Hello, I recently upgraded to 3.7.3 and my forum was overrun by errors. The shoutbox wouldn't work and no one could post anything, almost everything was broken. I ended up reverting back to 3.7.0 and I have this error when I log into the control panel.

2) I also get the same error when I delete a post even though it deletes it, I have to use my back button to get out of the error. Then, after this is fixed.. should I upgrade one step at a time? By that I mean, should I go from 3.7.0 to 3.7.1 and so forth? And when do I stop? Which version is the real last gold upgrade? The 3.7.3 was total crap for a gold release and it caused me all kinds of headaches and I don't want to go through that again. Any advice would be welcome. |

Proper steps for upgrading
1. Backup all files and database 2. Upload all vBulletin latest version files (3.7.3PL1) 3. Run the upgrade script located at http://foruminx.com/Forum/install/upgrade.php 4. Remove install.php from the /Forum/install folder 5. If you receive errors, disable plugins via the config.php file edit and use a standard vBulletin skin (the default one with no modified templates) If you still have problems, then I'd submit a support ticket at vBulletin.com. If you do not have problems, its caused by a faulty modification in which case you'll have to reenable the plugins, and disable/remove them one by one until you find out which one is causing it. |

3.7.0 was a "Gold" release. 3.7.1 and any oither version after that isn't, until 3.8.0.
Did you follow the procedures for upgrading as in the manual? I've upgraded many boards to 3.7.3 without any issues at all - so you can't blame vBulletin. If the shoutbox is broken - contact the author. You can upgrade to 3.7.3 from any version is the 3.x series - the upgrader will just run through the upgrade files for every version. |

I tried agian today to do this and now I'm getting this error:

It looks like a space symbol up there, but when I look at the config document, there is no space. Is that what's causing the problem? |

Make sure your MySQL details in config.php are correct.
