Developing a modification: when should I create a plug-in and when a product?
It could be a stupid question, there is no way. But you know, I'm a noob here.
I would like when, developing a modification, should I create a plug-in or when should I create a product. Can you please help me? |

If you plan to release it - then always create a product.
If its for just your own forum - Just a single plugin = leave it as a plugin. For more the one, create a Product. |

Just as a warning if you put any plugins/settings/phrases/templates under vBulletin and not your product, they will be deleted when you upgrade your forum.

Then, if I create via the AdminCP a plug-in, when I upgrade will it be automatically removed unless I have it stored/imported on/using a product?

I have upgraded many times with Plugins listed under the vBulletin product, they've all remained there. |
