Trading card game hack
It would be great to have a TCG/CCG gaming hack for vBulletin where people would be able to play their favourite and/or custom games online..

As nobody even reacted to this I'm working on it on my own and I managed to make a customizable system that can support any CCG/TCG game. So far I have finished loging, package generations (boosters, etc) and collection management (display and search the cards you have). Currently, I'm working on deck construction and a rating system. Once it's done I have to finish card trading and customize a "modular" display of collection (table headers and columns depending on the game) and a "modular" generation of packages so it's not using hard coded values but reading from database (what type and how many random or non-random cards will be in the pack).
I do have to note that I gave up on coding the whole CCG interface so far and will be using an external application called Magic Workstation for that. The decks are created and edited on the forum. Magic Workstation features a "security" code that is uniquely generated for each deck depending on it's content so it can be used against cheaters (you can play only with the cards you have). A full CCG "table" might be coded in the future. The players use money generated from any points/score system (I use vBscore) to purchase cards and packs. This same money can be used for tournament and league fees, as well as for prizes. Administration is performed only directly in the interface and AdminCP pages are not planned (except if released as a public hack, but I doubt it will be free if I'm working alone on it). |

It's in a state very close to playable. I actually halted development due to lack of interest from others.

hmm i can't really remember where i stopped but there was a system to buy boosters (not linked to any points system yet), make and edit decks, export them into the application, browsing the library, and complete filtering system..
what is missing here is obviously linking to points system and league/tournament systems.. |

ohh that HUGE!!!!
i was thinking a more of a gallery typed mod, with user groups, and each user could just select from the admin preset deck. so user/players could browser each other's decks and then trade by posting/pm's im talking about real life cards, into the vb, but the current gallerys out there just dont support such features. and im way to retarded to do such awsome work, wouldnt know where to begin or end. but makeing graphical representations = no probs |

as i explained this is not a system for managing collections but for playing virtually any TCG game.. i have made an engine for customization that basically allows you to enter any TCG into the database, "buy" boosters by using some virtual currency (vbScore for example) and play the game using an external application (magic workstation, though the plan was to play any TCG via vBulletin itself, maybe in the future)..
but as of other (more important) projects this one is on halt right now.. and no, i'm probably not going to sell this or give it away.. i want it as an exclusive for my board.. ^^ |
