Your "best" birthday present...

This is something I was thinking about not too long ago... What do you consider to have been the best birthday gift you have ever gotten and why. The "gift" for me is going to make me sound completely inconsiderate jerk who has no heart.

The best gift for me would be the death of my grandma this past year, three days before my birthday. I told you it would make me sound like a jerk! Now for the why... My grandmother was in so much pain from cancer in 5 different places and had been on her death bed for about three months. Her death took away all the pain and suffering that we all were going through. I was originally super mad that I had to spend my 16th birthday at the funeral home... But I am well over that.

So I do have a heart after all! So now what about you?

Because I got rid of one giant migraine. And I didn't think supporting her boyfriend was all that great of an idea.

I'm not judging anybody, and you don't have to feel bad about a situation that u couldn't control... I've my own struggles, but I guess this is life pal...

My best birthday gift was given to me my 15th year.

A small boy, I never amounted to the other boys in my class. They laughed and shouted taunts at me, calling me "Danny fanny" and other fragrant displays of jealousy (Well, that's what my mother called it).

Anyway, my birthday fell on a Wednesday that year, and I expected just an average day with the same old encounters with the high school football team. Well, it wasn't just an average day and it just so happens that that particular Wednesday was the best day of my life.

It was sixth period, Gym class. I know it's a cliche, but we played dodgeball. I really thought I could excel that day thinking a year older meant a year stronger, more reflexively inclined, and most importantly more confident.

Students were being knocked out by the second - and I do mean knocked out! K.O. One direct encounter with those hurtling dodgeballs sure could do some damage. I remained unscathed, however, even during the closing minutes of the game. I was feeling extremely well about myself and my ego soared into the air like the dodgeballs - but like all projectile motions, it didn't take long for my ego to come crashing to the ground.

Only a few remained in the game, and I was perspirating like the other boys. I glanced around at the phonies who sat next to the wall, they were eliminated and I was unstoppable. My eyes fell on my high school crush, Nicole, and she was no phony. I was about to shrug off my pubescent hormones and get back in the game, but she saw me and not only waved but smiled at me. I couldn't believe - Nicole Careso waved and smiled at me on my birthday.

I vowed I would win this game of P.E. dodgeball for Nicole. I picked up the nearest dodgeball resting on the ground and was ready to hurl it at my only competitor remaining: Joey Bangosi, the captain of the JV football team. Just as I was about to release the ball, it happend.

Joey Bangosi threw a dodgeball like a bullet leaving a gun. When the ball collided right into my left eye I flew twenty feet back into the wooden floor of the gym. I didn't know what happened, who I was, or why my eye was experiencing the most torturous throbbing pain. And as I slipped out of consciousness, the only image that pervaded the darkness was Nicole Careso smile and waving at me.

And that was my best birthday gift ever.

my best birthday was on my first anniversary... this is the only birthday i do not remember... i suppose my older sisters were not trying to trash my event that time...
