Bot SPAM!!!Help

hey
i am getting lots of spam on my sites..those bots spam...like buy Viagra or some porn sites ...i am not able to stop them, is there any hack which does it ?

my server is not sending emails so i am not able to use the email verification on my site. is there any other way?

why dont you have your server checked and find out why its not sending out email

i do not know how to change the ip of sending emails.. i talked to my server guy and he gave me an ip to use to send emails but i duno how to do it

oh i remember when i had those spam bots
they drove me crazy
daily id delete 30 of them until i ended up just forgetting and slipping away from my site
and the sad thing is I HAD EMAIL VERIFICATION but somehow they got through.. SOMEHOW?

Hmm well I experience the problem of bots registering bot none have posted yet. I also have Email Verify enabled. I've added a little traffic tracking program as well to my site so I check out the source of these bots, their ip and so on, so I just ban their ip's really.

Your server guy should fix the issue for you if thats what you pay him for.

There is no IP setting to change to send email anyways in vbulletin, the only thing you can use is the smtp options in the admincp, if your url settings in the admincp are correct, then its a server issue.

I would suggest you get a better "server guy" that actually knows what they are doing.

I installed the NoSpam! hack. I haven't had any bots in a very long time, but when I do get them I just change the questions around and it fends them off Best hack I ever installed. (well, one of several, LOL)

Wait, wait. So you don't have any server management skills and no one to help you with it. So you go ahead and get an unmanaged server? Of course the host isn't going to help you, it's UNmanaged.

I hired a guy to take care of my servers - he does all upgrades to my mysql and php and when we have needed to move servers or upgrade to RAID, he does all that for me. It's the best money I've ever spent cuz I really don't like dealing with servers!
