New profile field not coming up in 'Send Mass Email/PM'

Hi Guys,

I have just added a new profile field for members (10k)

This is displaying as Yes (the default) on everyones profiles in ACP, perfect.

I can do a member search and come up with everyone having the default value Yes

However when I go to send them a mass email / PM (this option is for a newsletter) I only have the newest members who's new profiles were created with this option.

I presume if I set it to Required, everyone would get asked, but ideally I dont want to do that.

Are there counters needing to be updated for this? Am I missing something?

I simply want to have a new option, defaulted to yes on everyones profiles that I can then send mail to,

I lie, it doesnt in fact show in the search users, only that the lack of value in their profile means they come up for both searches for Yes and No answers!

So basically, am I stuck with having to force the members to say Yes to something I want to default to Yes anyway?
