Vbulletin database for PHP Website
Hey Gurus,
My goal is to build a website outside of Vbulletin, but use Vbulletin's power and ability to supply the content for the website. I want to be able to run news, articles, reviews, photo galleries, etc that are all managed through vbulletin and plugins like photopost, but displayed on a php website with connections to the VBulletin database. Basically, a thread or post will act as the main content displayed on the website. Essentially, the website would simply mask the vbulletin content in the form of a website that looks similar to CNN or ESPN, etc. The first post in the thread would be an article and any posts after that would simply act as comments to the article. There are several finicky scripts out there that parse out VB data onto a php or even an HTML page, but they are not very robust and use a very archaic method. I would rather not integrate directly with vbulletin with such softwares as vbadvanced, vbportal, etc. because I intend on launching many sites. Please feel free to contact me if you have any input. I'm looking to build this project as open source as I can, because I know there are allot of users out there that would benefit from this sort of technology. Thank you for your time. |

I have found that vbExternal does something close to what I want, but does anyone know if it can include attachments??

I would suggest you actually write using the vBulletin framework.
