from the vbulletin manual, is says that we can do vbulletin test site.
How can I legally do a vbulletin test site? can I install the real vbulletin at domain1.com, and try the test site at domain2.com? I need to integrate vbdrupal but don't want to disturb the real vbulletin board |

you can't test vB on a different test... if you read the docs, you will find that you can create a test site within your own installation inside a directory named "vbtest" and secure it with a htaccess password...

I think you have to do it on the same domain. I would suggest creating a new folder named test.
Then upload the vbulletin again into this test folder and also the vbdrupal to go with it. Thanks, Paul. |

You will find a fairly good description of how to create a testvb set up, with a copy of your database here:
Step by Step: Create a test forum based on a 'snapshot' of your live one http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=252648 It's not the only way to do it, but it is a good description of one way that will work. You can find information on how to .htaccess protect your testvb folder on these sites: Password protection with .htaccess: http://www.freewebmasterhelp.com/tutorials/htaccess/3 http://www.sitedeveloper.ws/tutorials/htaccess.htm http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess7.shtml http://www.webmastersguide.com/htacc...s.htm#password Regards, |
