I got this mail today, saying my vB had a database error:

It seems a bit weird to me with those ahref link thing.. is this some kind of 'hack-attempt' in my forums or is this a normal error?

It's a normal error, and means exactly what it says, mysql received more connection requests than it's been set to handle.

I thought perhaps it was some kind of HTML code within a post or something which made an error

I already found out that the IP belonging to this error is googlebot! naughty naughty bot!

The error isnt because of the google bot, its because your server's mysql connection limit setting is to low.
