Unmerging Posts?
Group,
I just accidently merged 8 individual posts into one post. Is there anyway to revert or restore what I did without doing a database restore? Doug |

No, there isn't, once it's merged, there no way to "unmerge".

I really don't think it should be... there are various protections in place to prevent accidental merging... You have to be REALLY unlucky to accidentally merge two or more threads. To have a system as you suggest would mean adding lots of useless info to the database complicating the code and increasing memory and resources needed by the software- no way you can argue it's worth that to add this feature.

That does not take into consideration if a moderator does it and the admin wants to undo it.
Yes, the OP on this thread said "accidental", I'll give you that.. but my need for this was not due to some accident (other than perhaps allowing a mod to merge posts, if that would be considered an accident at all...). Cheers. |
