As you can see in the attachment, my smilies seem to have disappeared - now i've been in the vbOptions and made sure they're displayed.

Total Smilies: 15
Per row: 3
Menu Smilies: 15

Anything else obvious i'm missing?

Have you made any edits to your editor templates?

PS. Wait it out, maybe they'll send a postcard.

I havent - though i suspect there must be something wrong with the template.

Unfortunately i wouldn't know where to begin on rectifying that problem.

Okay, let's see if a plugin you've installed is causing this; place the following on a new line in your 'includes/config.php' file:

Disabling the hooks/plugin system had no effect either.

User CP -> Edit Options -> Scroll down to Miscellaneous Options - > Choose any other editor apart from the basic one and similes will be back on work
