help in running a multilingual forum
hi,
i'm thinking of running 2 sites, 1 for arabic users and one for english, with the same sections in both forums. But the forums titles are going to be in different languages (a translation for each one). I wanted to know if its possible to have this done with 1 vbulletin software, where the user would chose the language and when chosen only the sections for that language show up and using the arabic language pack for all the frases.. As you know arabic is from right to left and need its language pack for the forum to be viewed in that way, and english is opposite. The only thing I can think of is creating 2 different groups, 1 for the english members and 1 for the arabic, and do the permission for the sections, and when the user registers and choses thier language the automaticaly join that languages group, and from the permissions that I've set up for the forums, only the forums for that language show up for him! and like that, for example, when someone choses arabic they get added to the arabic members group, and the languge when veiwing the forum would be in arabic (from right to left using the language pack). And ofcourse vise versa. Is It possible to achieve? If not, what if I create 2 forums, with 2 softwares on my server, Is it possible to have a bridge in which if a user registers to 1 he automaticaly gets registered to the other one?? I know this will use up alot of my space and bandwidth, but if the first one can't be achieved then how about this one. kindest regards Ahmed |
