Drag n Drop forums
I have seen this done on other forums; on the index page it would be pretty cool if you could enable users to drag and drop forum categories into different orders using ajax or even just select in the user's profile what order they want their forum categories placed to be.

I see that someone else made this request a year ago. Did someone make this? Maybe it's easier this time around because I practically handed over the code to get it started. It can't get any easier than that. What I typed in my other thread:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two other bulletin board systems that I've tried recently (I won't mention them here - vbulletin is always the best system) had a feature that we don't have here. It is a drag and drop system for the forums. You can drag and re-organize the forums on the page. It's really cool !! I was wondering if we could make a mod to use this on vbulletin. Below is a link for the code to use (it should be easy to integrate because they were able to do it for the other two forum softwares using the same code). The link with the code is: http://www.java2s.com/Code/JavaScrip...sortedlist.htm If you PM me, I could give you more information about the other mods. If we could use this for vbulletin, it would be so awesome. What would it take to do this? An example of this is use is on the link below: http://www.java2s.com/Code/JavaScrip...sortedlist.htm |

It should be easy. I gave all the code that's needed in the links.
I won't mention which ones, but two other popular forum systems already have this mod. We should get it for vbulletin too. |

I sent a couple people information on the drag and drop mods from other companies. If they can do it there, it definitely can be done for vbulletin. Hopefully, some programming god out there can make this. It would be so cool to do this in vbulletin. Once again, if you need samples from other mods for other systems, let me know. Anything to help get this done.

Yeah, it's doable. But not with the default vBulletin templates, unless you or I find a "Sortable/Draggable Table" javascript, though I think it's possible to rewrite the table into a list, with the same alt1/alt2 look.
