I'm getting ready to roll-out a new vBulletin forum which will share some percentage of users with an old one. I'm trying to figure out if there's any way to do this elegantly, ideally by having shared user database resources between the two forums.
I'm aware of at least one partial OpenID solution, where users can create accounts on both boards, then access each of them with a joint OpenID login. I'd prefer a method whereby both boards when to the same user database or else one board regularly synced its database to the other. Is there anything out there? |

Don't believe so, you'd probably need to have it custom coded.

That's my guess based on last time I asked, but since I'm about to roll out a new forum, I figured I'd get an update.

Did you get this sorted? I'm after exactly the same thing...

As far as I can tell there isn't a good answer unless I want to do a whole bunch of coding, which I don't.
I'm going to try out the openid approach on some boards I already have, and see if it makes things easier or harder. That's here by the by: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=120923 |

Try asking Floris. I think she has several boards with one database over on vbulletin-fans.
