after all the bad press godaddy gets, i can't believe people still host vB's with them. to get an answer to your questions, we would need the server specs, what's going to be hosted, etc. too many variables to give you an accurate answer.

Without knowing how many oher users on on the server, it is impossible to answer your question. If there are several other vbulletin users, you can bet that it won't be long before you need to move though. vBulletin is a superb feature rich forum software, but can be a bit heavy on processor resources. I seem to remember that we were evicted from our Lunar Pages VPS after we started reaching the 40 registered members regularly online with a couple of hundred or so guests, we were advised to either change forum software to a more basic one, or move, as we were too big for the VPS.

We are hosted on a couple of servers now via Asmallorange, they have always come up with the goods for us.

"40 registered members regularly online with a couple of hundred or so guests" is what I wanted to hear.

Thanks.

This thread is a little old, but I thought I would reply as I'm using the cheapest godaddy vps service.. I run very small site (50 active users with peaks of 25/ day).. So not a lot of traffic, but its quick and responsive. I host a few other sites too (1 other of about the same size, not VB though) and I've never had an issue with speed or downtime. Current uptime is around 150 days and the last reboot was done by myself as it was never done prior to that. I could have easily seen over a year uptime.

I love the flexability... as I have a Teamspeak server, and I'm setting up a vent server too.

Godaddy is a  for me!

I use godaddy the default VPS. I have over 13,000 registered users. I have over 200 on at any one time. I have alot of traffic on my site. I can say at this size my server bogs down on occasion and needs a manual reboot. It even kills my Cpanel. It seems when I hit 300 users online at any one time it all falls apart for godaddy.

we were evicted from Lunar Pages also, they just plain suck.

I have been using site5 for a while now with no problems on several boards, one of which is very graphics heavy with an arcade and an RPG running also.
