welcome message before login and after

is there a way to have a message show below the header for people just visiting and then have it go away when they login

I want to have a banner below the header and when the user registers or logs in the banner goes away..

Open header template, find this:

<!-- /logo -->

and add after it

<if condition="$show['guest']"><div align="center"> put here banner code </div></if>

Thanks for that, just used it on my forum for the welcome marquee, can I do a similar one for logged in users, so that there is one for each group? If I can, what would replace the word guest and can I include their username in it?

I think i used this one for the welcome headers. it allows you to have a different one for guests and registered users

Thanks for that melscamera, just installed it, very easy as well.

Not sure whether I like it quite as much as the marquee idea, but after I've payed around with the messages it will certainly do the job.
