Where is the 'forum directory'?

Well I am wanting to change the logo of my forum but it keeps saying 'you must give a link to an image in your image directory in the forum directory', and this forum directory thing exists nowhere! How do I change a simple image such as the head logo? When I put in a link to a imageshack.us thing, it still does not work.

The forum directory is where your vBulletin files were installed
The images directory is a directory within your vBulletin installation directory.

Look in your address bar to discover your installation directory name

Using below as an example: forums would be the forum directory
The name forums is just an example, you may have used another name.

http://www.yoursite.com/forums/index.php

If you right click on the current logo, select properties, you will be able to see the full path to the logo image.

You can only do a banner edit via ftp, as stated above (ie: If you right click on the current logo, select properties, you will be able to see the full path to the logo image.) You will see h ttp://www.yoursite-name/forum/images/misc/what ever your image is named.gif . You will need rename your new banner pic the same as what ever your image is named.gif . You then need to drag & drop via ftp clicking allow overwrite....in the forum/images/misc folder. Then go to your site and refresh...All done...good luck

Thanks guys but I still do not understand. I clicked properties on the banner (go to bolttraining.com to see it) and it gave me that path and everything like you said. But I do not know still how to change it. Where do I go? Will the file come directly from my computer or do I need to upload it to imageshack.us

Keep in mind, I know absolutely nothing about this so please do not assume I have any priot knowledge or know where anything is. Do I need to go to the styles manager thing?

Do you use Smartftp? or any other form of it to edit your site?...

You know, there are two things I am wanting to change:

1. I want to change the 'locked' button only. I want to change it to either a big picture of a lock or a little box that says 'locked'

2. I want to change the logo to my logo.

If there is one respected member of this board who I can trust will not destroy my board, I would greatly greatly appreciate if you would go in my admin CP and change these things for me. That is, if this is a relatively easy procedure for you guys. Because this is a huge headache for me, who knows nothing about this.

Don't want to sound too harsh here Bolt. You need to get acquainted with the software that will allow you to work on your vBulletin image files. Esp. uploading new images.

FTP !! Unless you acquaint yourself with an application to upload new images etc., you are going to run into difficulties. You can not do what your require from within the ACP. You must also use FTP or some other method like directly within your hosting account (CPanel - File manager)

I don't know what FTP is though. This seems like the most complicated thing...

You have no idea how much time I've spent into this so far. If someone were to say "just go here", I would do it. But this is like so freakin complicated. I've probably spend 4 hours on the logo/close button issue alone. Which is why I thought I'd get someone who knows what they're doing to take some anxiety off me by doing this probably in less than a few minutes
