Manually rebuild attachments
I posted this on vbulletin.com, but figured I'd give a shot here too.
Unfortunately I had a massive server problem and a lot of my attachments got corrupted, and re-written to zero bytes. The backup I have of the file directory with my attachments is too old for me to use, but I actually have most of the attached files that were once uploaded. I tried to simply re-upload a file, and named it to its correct .attach number, like 2802.attach to replace the file that is now 0 bytes. I didn't lose anything in the attachments table in the database just the actual files. But when I go to click the link to download that attachment, I just get a blank page...actually the clear.gif 1 x 1 gif. New attachments work fine, it's just the old ones I'm trying to restore. I must be missing putting something somewhere when I try to re-upload the lost attachments. Anyone have an idea? Would be greatly appreciated, I am really frustrated over this. Thanks much. |
