Forum Home Enhancements - Forum Views Counter - Track the number of forum views

This hack will allow you to track how many views each forum has. This is useful to help you see in which areas you need to focus time on your site. Since you will know where the members are hovering.

To upgrade from 1.0.0 reinstall the product file. Since it had an error in the query for installing it that made it unusable.

This will work on 3.5 if you remove the executionorder="5" from the product file.

First, I think it's wrong to post a "hack" for all here on VB.org and then require "support" to be on your forum where you have to sign in to do this. I belong to enough forums. To me that's like making a hack and posting it here--which is cool--but then siphoning traffic.

I think it's fine when folks like Visionscripts post there free hacks and support them on this forum. Everyone can have links in their signatures, shouldn't that be acceptable for traffic? Just my thoughts, and some advice, printed words sound harsher than spoken words, so don't take my comments in a bad manner, take them as constructive criticism.

Now my quesetion, which I want answered here where the hack was introduced, again, I'm no programmer/coder, is where does you hack start counting views, is it from the day installed? Just curious, thanks, rg sends!

The day installed. The reason i support on my site is for one reason and that is the Time Element of how much time is required per day to support my hacks. Its hard to support them in multiple locations since they are released on more then one site. I just dont have time to read thro threads of the same questions at 2+ different sites.

Just to help clarify the support issue.......I believe you will find that if you do go to his support forum, that is all it is, support tech........there really isn't anything else on the extremewebtech, other then that........his regular site is extremechat, where he isn't sending people.......

I too understand what you are saying and felt the same way at first, but the extremewebtech, seem's to give him time to relook at issue's without wasting alot of bandwidth here.....

Again, not trying to be an arse here, but as a father of five kids, running two boards, one on line since 1999 and huge, professional photographer, lecturer, speaker, instructor, author, writer and on the road, it's very difficult for me too to have to go to upteen different VB forums. I guess we're both saying the same thing--we both have the prioritization of time issues. Not trying to diss you, just thought the whole idea of a place like VB.org is to centralize hacks and mods and all that evolves around them--now that saves time for everyone.

You could do what some other folks do at other sites, post links back here to their mods/hack from other sites, again, to centralize so everyone can see the latest and greatest on a hack.

On the other hand, I can understand support forums on other locations for paid mods sold at other sites, that is understandable to support the product. Just my thoughts, wishing you the best, rg sends!
