Skins
When I find Skins or Mods that are themes, in the modification sections of this forum, will I be able to download them for free or is there a fee for each of them?
I know i have to purchase a license to be able to download, I am planning that for the weekend. then when I download it, is it easy to just apply a skin, or am I going to have to program it in with html code and image slices. I am sorry this question is probably asked 1000x but I could find a direct answer . what about the arcade, chat, calanders and things like that are they usually free too? I want to have current movie listings on my site too. thanks for your time, chris |

everything you find here to download is free. ofcourse to access any of it you have to be a licensed member.
the license verification process usually takes an hour. after your account is all set up...dowlnoad and install your heart out! there are commercial scripts and skins at an extra charge, but those are generally not listed here. there are many sites you can find that offer them. (skins and scripts) if there is something in particular you need and can't find it here or one of those other commercial sites, you can post a request to have one made for you. if you post in the free request, you might get lucky and have it made for free and it will be released to the masses. welcome to the community |

Great Thanks, I thought that was the case but without haveing the software yet its hard to understand all this,
I also hope my limited knowledge of php and html will be enough to build a site using vBulletin. Any advice is greatly appreciated. |

Generally html and php knowledge is not required to build a site with vBulletin; Basic knowledge is useful, as you will be able to make use of any of the freely released materials on this website
None of the Styles or Modifications located on this site are paid; If you need something coding and are willing to pay to attract a coder swiftly, there is the Service Requests forum where you can ask someone to create something for a fee; Just be aware that there are a few helpful threads within that forum to try and help you get the best out of Service Requests There are many commercial websites out there for many different styles and modifications that you may or may not wish to investigate further once you have settled in to creating your new forum If you have any questions, the people here are friendly and willing to answer you, from the most basic right up to the most advanced questions you could probably think of (just don't expect too many to answer those ) Chris |

To be honest, limited HTML experience will get you quite far. You need not know a great deal about PHP unless you want to really get into modifying the core files, 'hacking', or general modification creation.
All of the templates are in HTML so if you are simply looking to create your own community and modify it so suit, you should be ok and good to go. If all else fails, there are plenty of members here and a vast number of HTML help sites to help you on your way as well . |
