I asked myself a 1000 times, why this is not a standard feature.

thx a lot!

p.s. how is it handled? does the user have to log in to unsubscribe, after clicking the link in the mail?

It's done by basically unchecking the "Allow Administrators to send me Mail" setting in the UserCP. I was considering having it unsubscribe by userid, so you wouldn't have to login, but there'd be issues with people unsubscribing other users; at present, the logged in user is the one who's unsubscribed.

I wondered too why this wasn't a standard feature, a friend of mine's site had just recently been informed by Google that large numbers of their users had been blacklisting his mail -- which is I why I wanted this for my own board.

thats the issue i asked for, right! thx. others are the worst, as they always are. so this is the better way.

eh. perhaps.... more better.... to generate a randomized string added to the url.... so, if the user forgot the password, theres no trouble getting a new one to leave the newsletter.... perhaps for the next version? would be very nice....

e.g. you could easily take the md5-password as an additional variable to the url? so this would authenticate the user? unsubscribe-link: xxxxxx.com/xxxxxx.php?uid=123&identify=3458a89ae94498934 ....
