Introductions / Custom fields in profile rendered as a link
Hi,
in my forum I have a special sub-forum where members can introduce themselves. A lot of members asked me how they could make a connection between their public profile and their introdction-posting. So I added a custom field to the profile and explained the members how to copy a direct link to their introduction-posting into this field. Problems: 1.) the URL will be rendered as a text, not as a link 2.) manual copying of links into a profile-field is far to complicated for most of my users Are you aware of a better solution? I think the best solution would be, if a little info text would be shown everytime when a user creates a new message and has not started a thread in the introduction forum yet. The text would say something like: "You haven`t introduced yourself yet as required by the forum rules. If this is your introduction please click on this button if you`d like to add a link to your introduction-posting to your profile". What do you think? Do you have better suggestions? I`d love to hear your thoughts. all the best, Sacha |
