Hack Idea User Selectable Thread More Exposure

I just wanted to through out my idea in case anyone else thought it be a decent hack that others would want too. All it is, is a thread on the forum home, that a user selects (it has to be their own thread) which gives it more exposure. The catch, is they have to pay $1.00 or whatever to get their thread more exposure, or maybe they just have to have 500+ posts. Whichever. The screenshot below is the option that the user would see in the create new thread.

Then once they check that box, hit submit, they will be possibly prompted with another screen, asking them to pay through paypal first. Or maybe that they just dont have enough posts. Once either one of these are true, and the checkbox is checked, their thread will be put on the forum home, at the top probably. Then of course we might need other options like when it expires, or does the user select that etc.

The hack is kinda like that one where the latest 5 threads are on the forum home, which has already been released. This is just more detailed and user oriented.

I cant believe this has never been done? It's such a good idea. It would work well for ads too. Users could create their own advertisments, pay for them, and then have them outputted even to the homepage (cmps) or forum summary. They could rotate with other users purchases (ads), etc
