Redirect to profile.php ?
Didn't know if any vBadvanced users ran into this problem today or not, but I figured I would share just in case. If you log into your site and are being redirected to profile.php and its giving you an error, there is a quick and permanent fix.
Basically, profile.php is being called without the forums/ directory in front of it. (the forums way of forcing everyone to update their daylight savings time?) Admin CP vBa CMPS >> Default Settings add profile.php to the footer replacements box you are now done! |

This happens every DST on sites that don't have the proper url settings in their vBadvanced template when they have a different directory for forums and front page.

Ah, thank god someone had addressed this. All my users were complaining of this and I couldn't figure out why because for whatever reason it wasn't happening to me.

What's happening is vb is trying to run profile.php to update the time if you have the DST setting checked. When it can't find the file the user is redirected to the bad link. Normaly it would just be a popup box with an ok button and the user would stay on the page. If you enter the forums first and not the front page then it will update and you won't get the error when you view the front page.

What's happening is that some of us folks use these types of forums 'n stuff cuz we aint coders and don't know all that fancy jargon about the code. Thanks for the in depth explaination of what I allready said in laymans terms.
I was simply putting my findings up in case someone else had the same problem I did this morning. There was info on vBadvanced site, but not here or vb.com, so I reposted to help other out. I think that vBadvanced defaults the profile.php in the header and navbar, but not the footer. In this case, the code to call it is apparently in the footer. |
