Default board address appearing before link?

Hi,

When I create a link such as this one >> HERE

It changes on my board to

http://www.myboard/forum/www.google.com

Instead of just adding www.google.com

Is there anyway of stopping this?

I have asked over on VB.com but no one seems to know what the problem is

--------------------
If I use the standard editor it works great but as soon as I add a link behind any word using WYSIWYG editor it comes up with my board address and followed by the link that has been added.

Can someone test this please:

Like This >>>> Hover-Over-This-Link and you will see it While hovering over that link see it in the status bar below and will not link to Google should come up with page cannot be found and then in the address bar it will say > https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/www.google.com

Thank you for any help

I think that's the fault of whoever made the link. That's simply the way URLs work in the world of coding, you have to type in http:// first or it'll try and do what you're showing. That's not vBulletin's fault.

Hi Thank you for your reply,

Them are the links that I created with just entering www.google.com hidden like this HERE but it will still show https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/www.google.com even tho I did type only www.google.com

Its a mystery and I don't know what is causing it but I'm sure its something to do with the WYSIWYG editor.

EDIT: I have just tested the same thing using my other pc and its still doing the same.

Ok it does look like the http:// has to stay there but it never used to be like that on older boards.

So the only way I can think of it working better is to remove the dropdown box on the Hyperlink Information so its just a single box.

Is there anyway I can remove it but still keep the WYSIWYG editor?

I have added a screenshot below.

Thanks for any help

EDIT: Just one question tho why if the http:// is left out it uses the board address in place of it?

Yes it is vBulletins fault. It's a bug. It does that here on this site too. It should check for http:// and if it's not there it should add it or refuse the link.

Yes, but supposing I wanted to link to a file on my server called www.google.com, then whatever would I do?
