Downloads Module, Help?
I must admit im very inexperienced with all of this. My problem and solution (if possible) is this.
The Content Module and Download Module are very similar however the Content Module does not allow files (.pdf, .mpg, etc...) to be uploaded only images and the Downloads Module will not allow you to post an all text message (i.e. no attachment). My solution which I believe the simplest is to simply take away the requirement under the Downloads module that requires a file upload of some type, this way our users can post news clippings, articles, images, files, video clippings and/or anything they want with out forcing them to include media with each post as the download module requires in original configuration. We basically need to be able to post information such as news articles about our sport and have the added ability to include files of any type if needed (but not required). I was hoping this was very easy and someone could point me in the right direction (i.e. take my hand and walk me through fixing it) as I am not a programmer/coder. Think of me as slightly more knowledgeable than a user. I would greatly appriciate any help in this matter. - Thank you. |
