[WISH] Pogo Like Avatar System Details »» | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This wish is probably beyond the scope of the arcade, but it is a feature of the arcade found at http://www.pogo.com so I thought I would add it to my wishes for ibpro
Some sort of points system (its own or an option to use ucash) https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=106459 A mini mall/store where users can buy clothing, items, backgrounds using those points. Generic male or femal bodies (artwork) Choices of heads, hair, clothing, items, and backgrounds (price setable by admin) (artwork required for each new thing) The ability to change hair color and skin tone for free at any time The ability to offer limited time only goods for special holidays where the user can only buy them from the shop one week or one month a year I have attached a few pictures, but I can get more if there is any interested in going further. Getting decent artwork would probably be the hardest part of this project, but it may be possible to find a "dollz" creator willing to donate blank bodies and clothing sets for the cause. Sort of like GaiaOnlione, you mean? I agree: that would be VERY cool, maybe even linked in with the RPG Zero Tolerance made...

I would imagine that would take a CRAZY amount of coding to do.
Not only would someone have to code all of the options for the "vB Mini" (known as Pogo Mini on pogo.com), it would also have to be coded for someone to choose if they want to use the mini as an avatar or their own. I'm sure it can be done. But it's a matter of what is planned for the next release, then the next release after that. Also depending on what the window is for each release, set by MrZeropage of course. Granted, this isn't too bad of an idea, as I am SURE a good amount of people would like it. It's just a matter of coding ALL options of which shirt to pick, which pair of pants, which hair style/color, skin color, accessories (sunglasses, handbags, etc.), backgrounds, hats. Then coding for all of it to be put together to look ok. Not only that, but you can't just upload any old image of a shirt and assume it will look as if it's placed properly on the peron in the mini/avatar. In conclusion, it would take a team of people to code this. Each person taking responsibility for specific areas. It would take a long time to get everything done, test it, make sure it all works, everything lines up, etc. just so it all looks good. Pogo has specific images they use, all made to "fit" the mini's on their site. I would imagine that SOMETHING could come from this idea, even if that something were VERY small. Then updated periodically to add options. Let's not even get into also having to code a points system to co-operate with the code for everything else to add/minus points as you "purchase" items. I, for one, LOVE a challenge. I'm more than willing to work with Zeropage, if he'd like, to try and make something work with an existing points/ucash system. Or even creating one for the arcade itself. In the meantime, I'll look into it when I have time and see what I can conjur up, lol. |

Something like this: http://minkle.phenominet.com/emo/dol...makergoth.html May have popups. We would need permission for the artwork from a dollz maker or the ability to create our own things. Quote:
I have no doubts this would be a daunting task. This is a wish after all I would also be willing to help out where I can. As I stated above you can do pretty well with the base vb and a few hacks to get you started. By using the gender hack and the default avatar hack I started people out with male or female bases. I held arcade tournaments and gave people ucash for winning which they could spend on upgrading their base avatars. I listed each upgrade in its own topic with prices. The user then picked what they wanted and told me. I would update the image in photoshop and upload it as their new avatar and remove their ucash through the admin panel. Lots of work if you have a large userbase. This is where the automation coding would come in handy. Attached are a few pics of sample items and avatars. -Disclaimer for all the dollz police I do not claim these as my own work, they are just hacked together dollz and clothing from other doll sites used as a test for a site that never launched- |

You would definitely need someone that knows what they're doing with graphic images. I'm crap when it comes to creating or drawing on the computer screen. Pixels and shading is not my thing, lol.
But I definitely get what you're saying. Having it automated is the big thing that you're looking for. Seeing as how you've already applied this idea with the connection between gender and avatars. I can give it A TRY, when I have some more free time. This would definitely be time consuming. Especially for a novice like myself. |

I am really interested in this. Is there anyone who could do it?
