Add a link to the "Forum Jump" Pulldown?
I'd like simply to add one link to this handy pulldown at the bottom of the screen:
The link I'd like to add is "New Posts," which would be: http://www.myforumname.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew Any advice or pointers on how to do this (what template to edit?) would be appreciated. EDIT: I just found the same question, asked more appropriately here so mods, feel free to delete this post if necessary. |

The template is "forumjump", which is in the root of the templateview, but I think that you'll have to hack some code too.
Haven't found the right file to hack though. Just open the include files and look for "forumjump" and i guess you'll find the one to alter. Also, you could try this thread. That will give you some hints were to look. It's in forumdisplay.php near line 66. I don't know how to add a link with a parameter though (like search.php?do=getnew) like you want, but maybe you can figur that one out. |

Thanks for the pointer... I ended up taking the easy road and just created a fake "forum" called "?New Posts, all Forums."
Gave it the link of http://www.myforumname.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew For "Act as Forum (Will act as category if no)" I checked no. (This way it doesn't actually show up as a forum.) It is "Active" but not "Open." And I set the Display Order so it's first on the list. Now, it doesn't show up under "Site Areas" in the Forum Jump, it shows up under "Forums" -- but it works fine and was easy to implement. So I'm happy enough for now. Thanks again! |

It works but it would be great to have it in Site Areas....
