Annoying email notification
Hello,
We just moved from phpBB to vBulletin. Most of our users had email notification enabled because it was very helpful for tracking new replies. Unfortunately in vBulletin the instant notification system works completely different and it annoys our users to the point that now they are all disabling this feature and it also means less visits to us . The difference between notification in phpBB and vBulletin is that phpBB sends more notifications to the user only after he visited the specific topic. In vBulletin it's enough that the user visits the forum (not the specific topic). Now when someone is subscribed to 100 different threads he can be overflooded with notifications just because he visited the forum. Is it possible to configure the notifications in VBulletin the way it worked in phpBB? (one notification and then more only after visiting the specific thread) |

I suggest turning on Database marking in the vBulletin Options, if they don't actually view the thread they shouldn't get a notifaction because it's not marked as read. But if they do use mark forum as read then they will get another notifaction.
