There was a good feature in IPB which allowed you to specify a group for search engine bots, they could then view anything that that member could see. Is there anything like this for vB? At the moment I have a members lounge which doesn't allow guests in, which means the adsense bot cannot read my threads/display ads

I doubt if that would be according to the TOS of Google etc.

No way to do that. It would also be considered cloaking.
