Use of vBulletin sitewide not keeping users logged in

I've read other posts regarding the use of vBulletin data on non-vbulletin pages by including global.php, and this is working great.

The problem I'm having, however, is that global.php isn't updating the cookie and keeping users logged in.

I need users to be able to login, browse other non-forum pages, then be able to go back to the forums and still be logged in.

Can anyone recommend a solution for this?
