AOL users not recieving e-mails due to "Spam" policy. Help..
I keep getting back returned mail delivery from users registering with a @aol.com account. The message is as follows:
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: useremail@aol.com SMTP error from remote mailer after initial connection: host mailin-02.mx.aol.com [64.12.136.121]: 550-(RLY:B1) The information presently available to AOL indicates this 550-server is generating high volumes of spam complaints from AOL's 550-member base. Based on AOL's Unsolicited Bulk E-mail policy at 550-http://www.aol.com/info/bulkemail.html AOL may not accept further 550-e-mail transactions from this server or domain. For more information, 550 please visit http://postmaster.info.aol.com. Is there a hack where I can prevent this from happening? It's a real pain. thanks. |

Contact AOL. There isn't jack you can do because, me being prepared right now to reflect all flames, AOL users are stupid and don't know the different between spam and an automailer that they intentionally triggered.

That might have something to do with your forums being Macintosh related, who knows. All I know is that I can't afford to ban the AOL.com domain as there are just too many people on my forums who use it. I have e-mail AOHELL and am awaiting a response. |

aol rejects email header does not include a valid domain name, as it assumes it to be spam.
configure your smtp settings to use a valid domain or ip address which can be looked up, and it should work for aol and other providers which block blank/relay servers. although you can use ANY valid address... such as www.microsoft.com .... it is ILLEGAL to send/relay mail using a domain which you do not own. |
